A southern family celebrates the birthday of their patriarch, Big Daddy. Maggie, Big Daddy's daughter-in-law, wants to give him the news that she has finally become pregnant by his favorite son, Brick, but Brick won't cooperate in Maggie's plans.

This musical adaptation of Frances Hodgson Burnett’s classic finds Sara Crewe enrolled at Miss Minchin’s school, but her life takes a dramatic turn when she receives news of the loss of her father and fortune. A mysterious gentleman from India moves next door, however, and curious things begin to happen.
